Pastor Kevin and I got to sit down this afternoon with the folks at YouVersion, which is a company created to help people engage with the Bible. YouVersion has an online Bible and apps for numerous electronic devices. Since it’s inception YouVersion has allowed people to read the Bible for more than 5 Billion minutes through its mobile applications alone. Harrah Church is a wired church. I see people young and old pulling their phone or mobile device out to read the Bible all the time. I know that many of you are using the online YouVersion website by the way you update your status with that passage of scripture. I want to see the pages of Facebook and Twitter covered with status updates each day from people reading the scriptures together.

It is our desire that more of our members would begin reading the Bible more regularly and as a group. Most of you don’t leave home without your phone and now you can take your Bible with you too. I want to challenge you to visit the site, download the app, pick a Reading Plan and begin to engage with the Bible every day. The Bible continues to provide direction and wisdom for me and for our leadership team. I know that if you begin to engage with it too you will find answers to questions you are having in your life and about your faith. Get your small together, pick a reading plan and begin your journey together.
