WHERE WE ARE GOING:
We are working at the Joplin Generations FWB Church at: 2301 Connecticut St., Joplin.
Take the Rangeline Exit North off I-44.  Go north to 32nd St.  Turn left to Connecticut St.  At Connecticut St turn right to the Church.

Our host church (where we will stay the night) is Carthage Church located at Brooklyn Heights Exit and Highway 171, Carthage, which is about 10 minutes from the Joplin Church.

If you want to go to Carthage Church and unload your personal stuff first that is fine.  If you want to go to the Generations Church and start working that is fine too.

WHAT WE ARE DOING:
I spoke with Pastor Gerald Bass (Pastor of Generations FWB) on Tuesday for the first time. They are excited and thankful for us coming to help clear their land. As we spoke, they were leveling the last wall that remained standing. We will be breaking up and hauling cement, bricks, and debris from piles around the property to the roadway for city pick up.

He also said that they need help cleaning and moving things into their rental facility.

WHERE WE ARE STAYING:
Our host church is Carthage Church located at Brooklyn Heights Exit and Highway 171, Carthage, which is about 10 minutes from the Joplin Church.

Carthage has 24 cots for sleeping. They are set up in the walk in basement and in a large room up-stairs (if needed).

SHOWERS:
The YMCA closes at 5 on Saturdays but it is our understanding the shower trailers are still set up in the Joplin area and that will be the best bet for cleaning up Saturday night.

FOOD: Carthage Church will be providing bottled water and snacks during that day for the crews. They will also have supper Saturday night and Breakfast Sunday morning.

WHAT YOU NEED:
If you are staying the night you will need a bedroll for your cot and your personal things.

WORKWEAR:
Closed toe shoes/ boots and long pants will be the best given the terrain. If you have gloves you will want to bring them.  Hats and sunscreen would be good too.

TOOLS:
Masonry hammers, shovels and wheelbarrows will be most useful.
