The Harrah Recreation Team met for the first time last night and had an incredible planning meeting. I can’t tell you how excited I am about what is happening through these leaders. Some of the fitness activities that they are going to be putting on will be incredibly fun. This team knows what it takes to DRAW people into community and I look forward to seeing people gathering in groups to do life together and invite others outside of our community of faith in. Missional Community is about being Christ within a community of people. The INCARNATION means that Christ took on flesh and came into the world to share how God wants to redeem the whole of creation through relationship. I told these leaders that they were Christ within these recreation and fitness communities. I called them fleshlings. I DON”T want to see Harrah Church have a Christian Sports Ministry. I want to see members of Harrah Church be Christlike within the sports, recreation and fitness programs in Harrah, Choctaw, Mcloud, and throughout our area. The Missional lifestyle is not about creating a place where Christians can hang out, but it is about getting Christian to hang out where people need Christ. This Rec Team gets it.

Pray for these leaders and the work that they are doing. Pray that God would give them favor in the eyes of the men and women in our communities. Pray that they would help children and adults adopt a healthy lifestyle that will enable them to live and serve God in p0werful ways.

As we begin our new series TOP GEAR we want you to pray about how you can move out of neutral in different areas of your life and begin a journey with God and the people He has put in your life who want to show you what a lifestyle of faith in 5th gear is like. You are going to be seriously challenged over the coming weeks to shift gears. Joining or starting a recreation team or fitness class could be all it takes to rev your spiritual engine and get you on a journey that will change your life and motivate you to invite others into the journey. Maybe you need to join a community of people that will push you to the next level. Maybe you need a group of people that will help hold you accountable. Maybe you need a group of people that will make the journey more fun.
