Real Life Discipleship

Real Life Discipleship

This past week a large group of our first discipleship participants were able to go to a global discipleship conference in Nashville, TN at Brentwood Baptist Church. It was encouraging to see so many people who have taken up the cause of making disciples who make disciples. We heard from many excellent speakers and were blessed to hear how their work is going.

One of the main session speakers and the leader of the track that I attended was a man named Jim Putman who authored the book Real-Life Discipleship. This is a very important book in understanding what we are doing here at Harrah Church. I encourage everyone to pick up a copy and read it if you are interested in learning more about making disciples in the fashion that Jesus did. Jim had men that he had discipled speak to our learning track and we could immediately see the fruit of his work and how these men were seeing fruit in their own ministries. We heard story after story of personal transformation and how the Lord is using the discipleship process to restore the church.

Our #EatTheWord Gatherings on Tuesday nights have been so good. I am hearing people talk about how God is speaking to them through the Word, how much fun they are having examining the Word in greater detail, their plans for following through on what God is teaching them, and so many stories of people winning as they have been abiding with the Lord and following His plan for their lives. You can see the fruit from this gathering on Sunday morning. God is breaking through, Heaven is meeting us here on Earth. People are changing their minds about Jesus and His role in their life. People are making Jesus the Lord of their life. People are telling others how amazing Jesus is. People are inviting others to discover Jesus in a whole new way.

I hope you are tracking along with us. Jesus wants to bring light and truth into your life. He want to see you restored in your relationship with Him. He wants to bring unity to your marriage, to your relationship with your children, and in so many other places. Please continue to study the Book of John with us. Dig in! Don’t let go. Seek Jesus with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your body. Taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the man who seeks shelter in Him.
